MATT’S PROMISE SEES MAROON!
JOIN US FOR OUR
7TH ANNUAL BENEFIT CONCERT
Adam Levine and James Valentine of Maroon 5, a pop rock heavyweight band with three Grammy Awards under their belt, 17 million albums sold worldwide, and releases that have gone gold and platinum in over 35 counties, will rock the house at Matt’s Promise 7th Annual Benefit Concert on Thursday, May 10, at Cipriani Wall Street.
The Event
The event is the single most significant way that Matt’s Promise raises funds to fulfill its mission of making a difference in the lives of young people affected by terminal illnesses. Our cornerstone project, finding a treatment and cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, has made huge advances through the overwhelming generosity of our sponsors and friends. We are involved in several innovative clinical trials that hold enormous promise for the 60,000 boys, worldwide, who pray each day that they can live one more.
Last year’s event drew over 1000 people who came out to support our cause. Like last year, the event will include over-the-top auction items, announcing the Matthew Wiederkehr Leadership Award honoree, outstanding food, magical atmosphere, a room full of energetic and enthusiastic supporters, and an opportunity to “get up close and personal” to one of pop culture’s leading bands.
The Music
Over the past seven years, we have had extraordinary talent for our benefit concert and this year is no different. Maroon 5, which came together when four high school friends jammed under the name of Kara’s Flowers, still includes lead singer and band leader Adam Levine, who now stars in the #1 NBC hit series “The Voice,” Jesse Carmichael, and Mickey Madden. Other band members now include James Valentine and Matt Flynn.
Capturing their first of three Grammy Awards as “Best New Artist” of 2005 and going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide, Maroon 5’s releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. Maroon 5 won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, Songs About Jane and their double platinum album, It Won’t be Soon Before Long, which included hits like “Makes Me Wonder” and “If I Never See your Face Again.”
